Spring ‘25/Summer ‘25

As we end our preschool year on a high note, let’s celebrate!   It’s time to reflect on our children’s accomplishments, discuss their experiences, and prepare them for the next chapter in their educational journeys.  By thoughtfully planning and implementing activities that celebrate the end of year, will help the children plan and adjust for their upcoming learning.  Our teachers always create a positive and memorable experience over the last few months of school for both their children and families.

Here's a more detailed look at how we approach the end of the preschool year:

  • Talk It Out – We discuss the children’s experiences throughout the year and help them recognize the changes that have taken place. We look back at photos, drawings, and celebrate the milestones and achievements such as potty training (“now you are using the toilet like a big girl” and/or “I like how you drink from the cup”). This reminds the children of their many accomplishments.  Another important discussion is to maintain open communication with families about the end-of-year plans and activities which will also help to join home and school’s good-byes together as one.

  • We gather artwork from their monthly self-portraits into a Yearly Journal creation and collect work into their portfolios so the families can appreciate their growth and fine motor development.

  • We participate in our ABC Countdown as a fun way to review the alphabet starting 26 days before the last day of school.

  • Our annual Pre-K Graduation Night is a ceremony that celebrates our pre-k students’ achievements and helps them understand the transition from preschool to kindergarten.

  • The End of Year Picnic is a wonderful event where our families share in the celebration of graduation, connect with each other’s school experiences, and say good-bye to our families that are moving onto kindergarten.

  • We suggest activities to Reduce Stress at home like read with me, take a walk, color, and sing and dance, all of which can help children and families manage the stress and excitement of transitioning to a new year, new teachers, and going to kindergarten.

  • Last but certainly not least, we Plan to Keep in Touch by encouraging families to plan ways to stay connected with classmates and teachers throughout the summer and next year by attending our summer camp program, joining us for another school year, and registering for our religious school, the TBE Jewish Learning Center.  Remember: you are always welcome @TBE so come back and join us anytime.
