Winter ‘25/Spring ‘25
WHY DO I recommend membership in Temple Beth El?
A few reasons instantly come to mind:
1. MAKING NEW FRIENDS
I’ve seen it time and time again…people join our temple and make lifelong friends! And that’s nothing to take lightly. The ups and downs of life are a lot easier to navigate when we have good friends to encourage and support us and accompany us on our journey.
We are not meant to be alone, and as Jews, we are taught to be part of a community. The rough and tough Marlboro Man who rides off into the sunset alone on his horse is NOT the Jewish way!
2. LIFELONG LEARNING AND STAYING YOUNG
We should all continue learning and growing through every stage of our lives!
At Temple Beth El, we offer weekly classes on Judaism and the Torah, as well as fascinating lectures throughout the year, given by experts and college professors.
And every Friday night, you can surely learn something new from Rabbi Aaron’s thought-provoking sermons. It’s been said that the key to “staying young” is to have an open mind like a growing child and remain receptive to new ideas and knowledge. So, stay young with us at Temple Beth El!
3. SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Learning our ancient prayers – and new ones too – helps get us wired into the “Attitude of Gratitude!” Did you know that the Hebrew word for Jew – Yehudi – comes from the word “to give thanks”?
There is so much to be thankful for! Joining Temple Beth El will get you into that habit!
4. SOUL STIRRING MUSIC
Each Friday night we welcome the Sabbath with marvelous music and singing. As the great Rabbi Nachman of Breslov said: “In your loving mercy, dear God, give me strength to praise You with truly joyful, beautiful songs.”
Besides our musical service every Friday night, on the second Saturday of each month, we host Shabbatstock – a morning folk-rock outdoor service led by our own band, JewGrass Revival. It’s a family and pet-friendly service like you've never experienced before!
5. SOCIAL ACTION
As Jews, it is our duty to make the world a better place…and we gladly do just that through our social action programs throughout the year.
6. TEMPLE BETH EL IS OUR BELOVED HOME!
Temple Beth El is much more than a place of worship. It is a family…and our doors and hearts are always open to new members.
